Depending on your ticket, transfers may be included. However, If you choose to reach the mine on your own, this is how you can:

  • The mine is located about 100 km north of Bucharest, the capital of Romania, and you can reach the mine by car, bus, or train.
  • By Car: you can take the A1 motorway from Bucharest to Ploiesti, then follow the DN1 road to Valenii de Munte and then the DJ102 road to Slanic. The journey takes about 2 hours.
  • By Bus: you can take one of the daily buses from Bucharest to Slanic that depart from Autogara Militari or Autogara Obor. The journey takes about 3 hours and costs about 25 RON (about 5 EUR) per person.
  • By Train: you can take one of the daily trains from Bucharest to Slanic that depart from Gara de Nord. The journey takes about 2.5 hours and costs about 15 RON (about 3 EUR) per person. From the Slanic train station, you can take a taxi or a local bus to the mine.
